As a tertiary oil recovery technology, EOR has been used to improve the oil recovery rate for many years with per ton of polymers increasing collection of 150 tons of crude oil for its user. By injecting the viscous polymer solution improving the sweep efficiency of injected fluid to block the major thoroughfare, forcing the displacement fluid into small holes road, it can ultimately increase the oil recovery rate.
